Emotional Intelligence for  Leadership Workshop

Emotional SMARTS® or emotional intelligence:

Leaders high in Emotional Intelligence are more productive. (Cherniss and Goleman, 2001)

The Emotional SMARTS® Concept:

                                      
Dr. Donaldson’s Emotional SMARTS® model and process is, by design, “practical”.  Her model is non-threatening, easy to understand, relate to, internalize, apply and measure and in it she refers to the A, B, C, D Cornerstones of being emotionally smart.

The “A” relates to five key Awareness skills necessary to keep oneself emotionally literate and self-aware.   

The “B” relates to Behaving appropriately with culturally, behaviourally and demographically different people. 

The “C” relates to important Contact or connection skills necessary to build healthy relationships and expand one’s sphere of influence. 

And last, the “D” relates to Decision Making and being able to make big picture, far reaching decisions that stand the test of time and scrutiny.
