Personal Excellence for Women in Leadership

Personal Excellence for Women in Leadership – Support for the unique challenges of being a woman leader

Women leaders have unique challenges and strengths and who knows this better than other women leaders. Women are under enormous pressure today to juggle various responsibilities-- raising children, managing homes, working full-time, volunteering for numerous organizations, caring for aging parents and the list goes on. Because of their propensity to over-helping, perfectionism, people-pleasing and feeling mounting guilt, the pressure is mounting and many women are feeling burned out!

This workshop will help women understand what is at the ‘root’ of such behaviour and how to break these destructive cycles and how as a leader it is imperative to delegate, empower others and let go. Reducing stress and understanding  some of their own personal triggers that ‘pull’ them toward over-involvement, people-pleasing and perfectionism as a leader will be explored.

Learning Outcomes: At the end of this session, participants should be able to:

1.    Recognize and change self-defeating patterns and cycles that keep one stuck, unhappy and overwhelmed!

2.    Practice productive decision-making that sets boundaries and reduces stress and frees others to rise to the challenge.

3.    Recognize energy drainers, how to set and follow one’s priorities and not try to do it all as leaders!

4.    Reduce guilt because you can’t do it all.

5.    Achieve greater work-life balance.

6.    Improve communication and reduce stress with a proven short form assertiveness technique.

7.    Understand the concept of boundaries, how to be responsible for one’s own work responsibilities and how to let go of what is not one’s responsibility.

8.    Reduce stress by understanding people pleasing and perfectionism attitudes that increase when one becomes a leader.
